ABOUT THE PROJECT

Pero, which translates to “to wear” in Marwari—a language native to the Rajasthan region of India—is a women’s ready-to-wear brand based in New Delhi. The label, founded in 2009 by Aneeth Arora, pays homage to India’s rich traditional textile practices through its collection of exquisitely woven dresses, intricately embroidered tunics, and beyond. Sourcing materials locally from across India, Pero collaborates with regional craftsmen to meticulously handcraft each item, infusing the line with a sense of heritage while marrying Eastern aesthetics with modern, accessible design.

In my capacity as a freelance designer for Pero, my contributions included crafting the logo and establishing branding guidelines, creating a versatile logo set designed for various applications (including handbags, clothing tags, and both print and digital media), as well as conceiving background graphics for two runway shows. The logo design draws inspiration from the Indian mandala, symbolizing the cultural heritage and refined elegance that define contemporary Indian women’s fashion.
